Discuss final grades
If you do nothing from now until the end of the semester, you will receive the grade on jupitergrades. It will not go down from this point, so everything you do will only help.
On finals day, we will count stamps for this semester (replacing the number of stamps from the last time we counted) and re-test on anything you missed. Please look at your total number of points in the class, and use the grade cutoffs below to figure out what you need to do in order to receive the grade you are trying to get!
Calculate your grade cut-offs
Multiply each percent by the total points from the jupitergrades grade report.
(note: your cut-offs may be different from other students' cutoffs based on class period, project advisor, when you joined the class, etc., so please calculate your own)
101% and above = A+
90%-100% = A
80-89% = B
65-79% = C
50-64% = D (passing)
49% and below = F (must re-take at trade tech or summer school to graduate)
Make a plan
Determine how many points you need to gain by the end of the semester in order to reach the grade you want.
Identify the specific test objectives and assignments you need to get credit for to reach that number of points. Show how they add up to the number of points you need. ("I’ll do my assignments and study for test” is NOT specific enough.)
Things that will improve your grade:
-Missing Assignments (including Revise/Resubmit and Incomplete assignments)
-Re-take objectives on final
-Stamps (exceeding the number from the last count)
-Extra credit: N-21: 100 Calories (+5 pts.), Calculate total pieces and count (+2 pts.)
-Upcoming assignments: E-1: Exercise SMART goal lab report (up to +21 pts.), N-12: Sugar v. Artificial Sweetener (+15 pts.)
Update your HW log
-Get a parent signature for this plan, due Tues/Weds (12/6-7/16) (+3 pts.)
-Prepare for re-test and get help to complete assignments as shown in the plan, due the day of your final (12/12-14/16)
